I don't know why it won't let me send any more screenshots; it says the file size is too large. The thing is, the seller recommended this middleman to sell his account: https://www.playerup.com/threads/i-was-scammed-by-a-middleman-moderator-hulk.6823057/ We agreed on a price of €500, with me covering the middleman's fee—5% of the total, or €25. In the end, once the middleman—Hulk—received the money, he made up excuses claiming the funds hadn't arrived, even though PayPal transfers are instantaneous. He and his accomplice—the seller—put on quite a performance. After a few hours, the seller complained about not having received the money; he asked the middleman—his accomplice, whom I had paid—to return his account credentials, and that is exactly what happened (assuming he actually handed them back). The middleman, "Hulk," sent me a screenshot showing that he had issued a refund, but the screenshot was fake; he received the money immediately and never actually processed the refund—the excuses started the moment the funds arrived. As of now, the middleman and his accomplice (the seller) have blocked me. I am privately investigating their identities and have already found their social media profiles; soon, I will discover where they live and who their family members are. You never know who is on the other side of the screen—be careful. In the meantime, I would kindly ask for your help in getting my money back. Thank you. @Hulk @Middleman
It seemed really convincing, given its reputation and reviews, but in the end, it turned out to be a scam.
I changed your title to Fake Discord Scam. Reason why? 1. When did I ever message you on PlayerUp in any Direct Messages or on any post or thread? Please provide proof I did this. 2. Where on PlayerUp did I ever message you a discord username on PlayerUp? 3. Where on PlayerUp have I ever said I was a middleman on PlayerUp?
How did you even message this "seller" on discord? Let me guess. You added the seller on discord and then the seller told you that they'll find you a middleman on discord. They then added Hulk who claimed he was a middleman who worked for PlayerUp and then you were scammed by Hulk. Here is the reality of what happened. The seller = Hulk It's the same person who scammed you and they are running BOTH accounts on discord.
Go to PayPal, open a paypal dispute immediately on this issue since you paid by PayPal. How do I open a dispute with a seller? | PayPal US Go to Discord, REPORT the conversation of BOTH the seller and this hulk moderator. Inform discord that they're a scam and impersonator.
In conclusion, this should serve as a reminder that anyone can contact you offsite while pretending to be someone else. Before doing business with anyone, you should always verify their identity onsite through PlayerUp. Did I ever send you a direct message on PlayerUp? No. The only time I have communicated with you was by replying in this thread. For example, if someone contacted you offsite claiming to be Elon Musk and asked for your financial information, would you immediately believe them simply because they said they were Elon Musk? The same principle applies here always verify a person's identity through the official platform before sending money or sharing information. The only PlayerUp username you provided was John Thataher. That account has now been closed. The email address associated with it was [email protected]. Based on the information you provided, you were communicating with an impostor offsite who was pretending to be me. Unfortunately, because the transaction occurred outside of PlayerUp, there is very little I can do to assist. Your next step is to contact both Discord and PayPal immediately and report the fraud. If the PayPal payment is still eligible for dispute, begin that process as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the lower your chances of recovering your funds.
